Melhores Cervejas do Mundo – Campeãs do World Beer Cup 2016

Não foi neste ano que as cervejarias brasileiras se destacaram no World Beer Cup 2016. Considerada a Copa do Mundo da Cerveja, o Brasil não saiu consagrado (como em 2014, quando a Wäls conquistou medalha de ouro e bronze).

O resultado foi divulgado na sexta, 6/5, na Filadélfia. Em 2016, a disputa ficou ainda mais concorrida: 6.596 cervejas (quase 2 mil a mais do que 2014: 4.754), vindas de 55 países. Só o Brasil entrou no quarto lugar como o país com mais cervejas inscritas, foram 169, atrás apenas do Canadá (259), da Alemanha (265) e do anfitrião EUA (4.858).

Promovido pela Brewers Association, nesta que foi a 12ª edição, foram analisadas 6.596 cervejas de 1907 cervejarias. Foram 55 países representados no torneio que premiou 96 estilos de cerveja. Uma equipe de 253 jurados, destes 13 brasileiros, foram responsáveis pelo veredito.

Das cervejas premiadas, destaco 3 rótulos clássicos bem conhecidos no Brasil. A Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier, que conquistou ouro no estilo Hefeweizen, a Hoegaarden Wit, no estilo Witbier e a La Trappe Trappist Blond, premiada na categoria Belgian Blonde Ale.
